Devil's Punchbowl National Formation

  • Natchez, Mississippi (map)

Located in Natchez Mississippi, the “Devil’s Punchbowl” was the site of one of the most infamous concentration camps that newly freed Black slaves were forced into by government authorities during and after the Civil War. Abuse and neglect led to the deaths of an estimated 20,000 souls, primarily from disease and starvation. The Elmer Geronimo Pratt Gun Club will be joining Black Gun Groups from across the country for this formation during Juneteenth weekend in honor of our ancestors whose lives who were lost there.
